I have 3 of the new 48v (51.2) 100ah rack mount batteries (set up in parrallel) with another 1 on the way.
Does anyone know how to get these to communicate with a Victron Smart Shunt and Raspberry Pi to use with the Solar Assistant monitoring app/software.
I've had the batteries communicate with SRNE (white lable) inverters (using the Plyontech protocol) but cannot get them to "talk" with the Pi. I cannot see more than "pack1" nor the individual cels in pack 1. The Dip switches are configured correctly. I've tried USB/UART cables configured as per the manual. I believe these use TDT type BMS's but cannot confirm with Humsienk.
Although I am gernerally happy with the batteries, Humsienk's Customer Service has been no help. Not sure if it's a translation problem. I've also asked them for their own monitoring software but received no reply.
Use VE Direct Cable and set Solar Assistant Battery to USB VIctron VE Direct. Connection USB1 VE Direct Cable. You will not connect your battery communications directly to the Rasberry Pi since you have the shunt.
1. Turn DIP switches ON w/Different Numbers
2. Connect Communication cable from Inverter to RS485 (Next to the (CANN Port)
3. Connect the comms cable (short Ethernet cable) to the RS485-1 port on your master, or main, battery. Connect the comms cable to the RS485-2 port (the FAR right port) on the slave, or secondary, battery.
4. Connect another comms cable from the RS485-1 port (the left port) on the second battery to the RS485-2 port (far right port) on the third battery.
5. Turn on the BMS and the breaker on battery #1, then battery #2, then battery #3. You'l see the RUN light and the lights on battery #1 light up. Batteries #2 and #3 will blink their RUN lights but their SOC lights will remain off since battery #1 now speaks for all of them. And batteries#2 & #3 2. Power buttons will stay depressed
