Solar Assistant

  • I have 3 of the new 48v (51.2) 100ah rack mount batteries (set up in parrallel) with another 1 on the way.

Does anyone know how to get these to communicate with a Victron Smart Shunt and Raspberry Pi to use with the Solar Assistant monitoring app/software.

I've had the batteries communicate with SRNE (white lable) inverters (using the Plyontech protocol) but cannot get them to "talk" with the Pi.  I cannot see more than "pack1" nor the individual cels in pack 1.  The Dip switches are configured correctly. I've tried USB/UART cables configured as per the manual.   I believe these use TDT type BMS's but cannot confirm with Humsienk.

Although I am gernerally happy with the batteries, Humsienk's Customer Service has been no help.  Not sure if it's a translation problem.  I've also asked them for their own monitoring software but received no reply.

  • Anyone out there????

  • Use VE Direct Cable and set Solar Assistant Battery to USB VIctron VE Direct. Connection  USB1 VE Direct Cable.   You will not connect your battery communications directly to the Rasberry Pi since you have the shunt.
